About us

Around one third of people who have a stroke have problems with speaking and understanding what other people say.
Stroke Association helps both Stroke Survivors and their Carers make the most of their abilities to communicate, often building on work already done by Speech and Language Therapists in hospital.
We work on everyday communication skills, building confidence and friendships along the way. Meeting once a fortnight, regular attendees also meet during the intervening week, supporting each other to make the most out of their newfound skills.
The service is commissioned by Cwm Taf UHB and is coordinated by Sue Murray. If you’re interested in attending, please contact Gwyneth Leivers, our Service Support Assistant, in the first instance. Gwyneth works on Thursdays and Fridays only, so please be patient with regard to us getting back to you.
